Shower Distress

Some rough stuff whilst taking some time to relax and get my energy and health levels a bit up.

Lately I’ve been having terrible Fibro flares, feeling exhausted, broken down and generally just in terrible pain. One of the few things that can relieve the pain somewhat is warm water. And since I don’t have a bath, Jacuzzi  hot tub, or whatsoever, I just sit on a stool under neath the shower and it feels actually kind of nice and warm. 

Dudes!! People!! my mural is on Dutch tv!! Check the coverage of the Anti Dierproeven Coalitie by the programme ‘nacht wacht’, where they rescue beagles, who’re being bred for the single purpose of ending up for animal testing. So right on ADC!! Excellent work!! For those who have little time, ADC is in the beginning of the episode and continues through the rest of the episode in between other bits.

Hello people!

First of all, a big hello to new watchers!! :D and many thanks for the love! 

Second, as you can read in my posts, I’m (terribly) busy with my graduation projects, thus making me part of the ArtEZ Finals 2013! My art school is based in Zwolle, the Netherlands, if you are in the area around July, definitely check out our exhibitions of me and my fellow graduates, and of course in the other Artez schools in Arnhem en Enschede (also based in the Netherlands).

Definitely keep checking for updates! :)

And another batch of pencil sketches  for my personal project surrounding the situations, emotions and effects of Fibromyalgia, which  for now will carry the working title ‘Pathos, pain and all her friends’.

Sort of personal interpretation of Rhesus Macaques; I went a bit overboard in humanizing them. But then again we are very closely related of course…

A teeny detail from one of my favorite illustrations/spreads I’ve made so far as practice for the The Black Fish children’s book.

One of the (possible) spreads I’m currently working on for The Black Fish childrens book. Experimenting with colours, composition, etc. And the jellyfish, which I named Chrys, is way too much fun to draw! All them flowy lines…

“Such fun!” that sleep deprivation thing…. Not! It happens a lot to me thanks to either medication for my Fibromyalgia or because of the Fibromyalgia itself….

Joints that all of a sudden lock, muscle cramps, annoying stiff joints, muscle spasms, etc..

Thus creating a cycle of pain, fatigue and a continuous lack of sleep.

Fingers crossed for some proper sleep soon! :)

Behold the small pile of sketches! All for the children’s book of The Black Fish… There are some human charachter designs, fishy and non-fishy character designs, clothing designs and some first scenario/composition sketches scattered around and well, hidden… But  I’m not going to spoil everything so enjoy the little preview! :)
